Bangladesh is of considerable interest to the environmentalist
Bangladesh is one of the largest deltas of the world, with three major river system the
Ganges, The Brahmaputra and the Meghna. Each system has significant number of
tributaries and distributaries. The state of environment degradation may be approached
by examining four key areas:
a) Water pollution and scarcity b) Land degradation c) Air pollution d) Extent of bio-diversity
